Amarillo Botanical Gardens

Almost 90 years ago, a group of women came together to create Amarillo’s first garden club. Despite the challenge of gardening in the high plains of Texas, they succeeded. After years of growth, division, and beautification projects, a new home for the Garden Center was chosen — Medical Center Park in Amarillo.

Eventually the Garden Center expanded and became the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. You can visit under general admission for a small fee, or become a member to receive unlimited free admission.

Amarillo Museum of Art

The Amarillo Art Center was formed by dedicated Panhandle residents with a vision — that was 50 years ago. Since then the museum has grown to serve almost 500,000 Texas Panhandle residents.

The Amarillo Museum of Art has approximately 25 exhibitions every year and caters to budding artists, at-risk youth, seniors, and many others.

Cadillac Ranch

The GoldenLight Cafe is the oldest restaurant in Amarillo, having first opened its doors in 1946. FIve owners (and five chili recipes) later, the GoldenLight Cafe is still alive and well. In 1996 the GoldenLight Cantina was added and is now a premier venue for live music in Amarillo.
